Windows

The beauty of the outside acreage is framed by seventy one custom windows, made for Felta Ridge estate by Sebastopol Windows. Natural light from all directions fills the home through windows which suit each interior space: double-glazed casement, single hung, awning, and hopper windows; view-capturing mitered windows are found in the kitchen and master bedroom.  All windows were constructed with solid clear, all-heart, kiln-dried redwood.  Each window has its own custom redwood screen.

Doors

Wigfield Woodworking, Petaluma, created forty six custom exterior and interior doors for the estate.  All doors were crafted of kiln dried woods; the beautiful entry door, was created from red oak.  The french doors into the billiard room are make of vertical grain redwood, while each of the other five doors to the outside are crafted from Douglas fir.  Sugar pine was used for all thirty nine interior doors.

Cabinetry

An outstanding feature of the home is the custom woodwork. Architect Kirk Hillman developed design profiles for all the millwork, cabinets, bookshelves and wainscoting. Elmack Cabinetry of Mill Valley executed each detail, including the extraordinary library bookcases, flush-inset doors and drawers, custom-milled clear-heart redwood beams and wainscoting in the billiard room.

Home Heating

The Warm Floors hydronic radiant heating system provides the most efficient, healthy, quiet and ecological heating system available.  The system includes six separate thermostatically controlled heating zones that can be programmed for each day of the week, including wake, leave, return and sleep time programs.

Wood floors and spiral staircase

Selected for beauty and durability, all wood flooring and stairs were constructed of ¾”x 2 ¼” select quarter sawn white oak, installed by Thurner Hardwood Interiors, Santa Rosa.
